Essentials
Here are all the items we use the very most in our kitchen.
We love this Ceramic Mandolin because the blade stays sharp. We use this a lot for our recipes, including our popular Cheesy Root Vegetable Gratin.
A must have for every home. We use ours all the time! It’s perfect for dishes like our One Pot Fettuccine Alfredo recipe.
We are big fans of tapered rolling pins because they provide a lot more maneuverability than traditional ones. Check out our Pies & Tarts recipe section to see where we use this most!

An essential and classic kitchen knife that is razor sharp and a little flexible.
For anyone who loves to bake, a stand mixer is a great tool. We use ours often, and we love this version with a glass bowl that has a spout for easy pouring.
A good microplane is a must. We use a lot of citrus zest in our recipes, like for this refreshing Lemon & Thyme Cake which has zest in the frosting and cake batter!
These are how you get beautiful swoops for your cake and cupcake frosting, like on our One Bowl Chocolate Sheet Cake. They are good for more than just frosting though! Spreading batter in a pan, using as a mini spatula, they have many many uses!
Every kitchen needs a good quality chefs knife. It’s the go-to knife in the kitchen that does most the heavy lifting. We love this one because it’s lightweight and has a thin, sturdy and very sharp blade.
Wooden spoons are essential in every kitchen. They’re so versatile and often used for sauteing, stirring, straining, flipping, everything! These ones are sturdy and easy to clean.
Having a great serrated knife can be so helpful in the kitchen. We love this one for its razor sharp teeth that slides through food with ease and precision.
Although this is called a crepe pan, we prefer to call it our breakfast pan, as its large surface make it great for making pancakes, and omelets in addition to crispy thin and delicious crepes.
We have one large pot in our kitchen and it’s this stock pot. Not only is it great for making a large batch of stock, but it’s a great soup and pasta pot too! We also love it because unlike other stock pots, this one is super lightweight while still being very durable.
Multi-sized baking sheets are a must in every kitchen! We love these ridged baking sheets for their great strength and ability to allow for more even baking and overall browning.
We never knew how much we needed a great roasting pan in our kitchen until we got a great roasting pan in our kitchen! This roasting pan is large enough to fit a full sized turkey or roast, but versatile enough to handle a small chicken or a couple Cornish hens. It’s also dishwasher safe, making cleanup a breeze!
We love durable cookware and this set is one of our favorites. We love the ease of the nonstick surface, but that they can still handle metal utensils as well as a really high heat for a great sear. They’re also reasonably priced for the number of pots and pans you get, with long lasting durability.
A simple set of measuring spoons and cups is essential in every kitchen. We love these so much because they’re long lasting, dish washer safe and provide you with more than just the standard sizes and measurements.
Small Appliances
We have quite a few ice cream recipes on the blog, and this affordable ice cream maker is great and compact!
If you want to get more serious about your ice cream making, this is the machine for you. It’s a little spend-y, but worth it!
We love this little food processor that is perfect for small jobs, like making a salad dressing or chimicchuri.
Baking Pans
This is our collection of the baking pans we have used in a lot of our recipes!
Everyone needs a good loaf pan! Some of our favorite recipes that utilize this pan are our Cheesy Herb Pull Apart Bread, and our Cinnamon Sugar Messy Bread.
This mini donut pan is the perfect size for party donuts.
A good bundt pan is a must. This classic bundt pan is what we use in our Pumpkin Cake with a Pistachio glaze.
This Donut Pan is a workhorse for us. Most of the donut recipes on our blog are baked, and this is the pan we use!
We use this nonstick Quiche / Tart Pan in a lot of our recipes, like our Almond Cake. The bottom is removable to reveal the beautiful crust!
We really love Mud Australia. They make beautiful ceramics you can bake in!
Dansk has really beautiful pots and pans, and casserole dishes. We love their whole line!
This little tart pan is such a nice size. In addition to using it for our Banana Cream Tarts, and our Cornmeal Cobblers.
This Bundtlette Pan makes the cutest cakes. Our Mini Citrus Bundt Cake are perfect for parties!
Popsicle Molds
There is nothing better than a delicious popsicle on a hot day. We love making popsicles and ice cream bars! We have used quite a few molds, and these are the ones that we think are the best.
This popsicle mold is out go-to.

We get a ton of use out of our Silicone Ice Cream Bar Mold. We love the size because it’s not too huge. We use it in our recipe for Mango Lassi Bars, our Crunchy Peanut Butter Pie Pops, and our Strawberry Cheesecake Bars.
Pasta Making

A pasta drying rack is essential if you’re making any kind of long strand pasta. We use it in our recipe for Homemade Pasta. We love this pasta drying rack because it’s collapsable for easy, compact storage!
This Gnocchi Board makes preparing gnocchi (and other pasta shapes) so much easier. It’s what we use to make recipes like our Caprese Gnocchi, or our Sausage and Kale Baked Gnocchi.
This pasta maker is our go-to. Stainless steel, and adjustable in thickness. It’s so convenient and does a lot of the arm work for you.We use it to make our homemade pasta.
Making spaetzle with a spaetzle maker makes the process so much easier. We have spaetzle in our Schnitzel recipe, as well as Pesto Spaetzle bake recipe.
If you have a countertop that is tiled and has grooves, this pastry board is the perfect solution. It’s also great for keeping a cooler temperature ensuring your dough (or melted chocolate) won’t heat up too quickly.
We love having this Spider Strainer it comes in handy more than you think! From fishing out ravioli, gnocchi or even fried items like hush puppies.
