I’m a big fan of DIY gifts for the holidays. Firstly, the best gifting DIYs are the ones you can make big batches of. Second, they make perfect hostess gifts for all of the holiday parties you attend, co workers, or any of those small but hard to buy gifts you need for people. This year we decided to make a these really pretty Gifting Sugar and Salts. They are really easy to make, and beautiful! And best of all, no cooking required. YAY! We packaged them up to make them a really nice gift, but you definitely do not have to go that far with it.

I purchased a dozen of these little reusable canisters from Amazon.
I also printed all the labels I got from Avery We Print, because they print them for you and they look good, it’s easy and not crazy expensive, and there are no minimums. I used 1.5″ round labels like these. The jar tops are about 2″.
You can find the labels that correspond to the recipes below right here:
Vanilla + Rose Sugar
Lavender Rosemary + Black Pepper Sea Salt
Calendula + Fennel Thyme Sea Salt
I ordered some reusable produce bags to “wrap” my gifting sugar and salt from Cool and Mellow on Etsy in the 8 x 10 size.
I used these spoons from Sir and Madam, but these are less expensive and also great!

I used these dried rabbit tails and these dried grasses to tie together with my wood spoon. I used hemp string to tie everything together.

I really love this gifting sugar and salt DIY! It’s really easy, and super pretty. Recipes for the salts and sugar are below!

Do you have any hot tips for ways to use these? My preschool class is making these for parent gifts for Christmas. I’m sure some of them will scratch their heads. I’m thinking the lavendar, rosemary, salt and pepper is good with chicken? Thanks!
I’d be interested in some ideas on how to use, also.
Ooh – great gift idea. I’d love to see more of these diy giftables leading up to the holidays. I have enjoyed gifting the homemade extracts from your previous posts
Thanks Beth!
