Holiday time is officially here! Okay, so in theory the holidays are great, but really they’re stressful and expensive. Don’t get me wrong, I still love holiday time, but it is what it is. Something I like doing to alleviate some holiday stress is give homemade food items as gifts..particularly sweets and baked goods. This is one of those things I’m definitely going to make. I’m going to package them up in really cute Martha Stewart holiday craft gift boxes and give them away as small tasty gifts. I had chocolate covered Ritz crackers for the first time last year. Oh man, after I ate my first one I was on a mission to hoard boxes of this “limited edition” stuff for the next month…. I thought they were that good. This year I thought I’d make my own. I thought the only way they could get better was adding peanut butter. Turns out, I was right. They’re so good…really I promise. Please make these for loved ones this year, they’ll love you even more for it! Plus, they’re super simple to make. Enjoy!
xx Jenny

This recipe has been in our family for year now- we mix it up though and melt chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, white chocolate chips and butterscotch chips all together for the outside coating. Once you go this route you never go back!!!
Lol!! Love it so much!!
These are great!I just made these with this recipe but next time I’m going to try the pretzel crackers.
saw this on the front page of your site, looks like it’s been out there for awhile but still never seen anything like it, so thank you for this, love the creativity here!
Our neighbor gave us the peanut butter ones years ago. They were AWESOME. She said she made them but I never got the recipe. Yours look and sound exactly like the ones she gave us. I will try them this weekend. Thank you for posting :)
how long will these keep in a a tupperware container?
I want to make them tonight (Tuessday) for my party Friday. I don’t want to freeze them because i don’t want the chocolate to turn white after thawing.
They should be totally fine for Friday! They’re good for about 1 week, in an airtight container!
Hi Jenny, these look amazing! I saw the fudge covered Ritz in my store too and was intrigued! Just curious: why do you add the powdered sugar to the peanut butter? Thank you!
It helps to stiffen the peanut butter, so you have more of a ‘reese’ type center…you can totally omit it though and they’ll still turn out great!
I will eat these, just as fast as they disappear from your gif image. :)
my grandmother made these and i loved them my sister is in the process of making them thanks so much!!!!!
Oh man, you just took me back. I used to make these with my great-grandmother. I always think of her when I see these cookies. Thanks for the recipe and reminder!
I put these on cake sticks and gave them green M&M eyes, a red M&M nose and pretzel antlers, cover with a clear bagie and tie a red ribbon around the bottom for an adorable and delicous treat.
Do you have a picture of them with m&m’s and pretzel antlers?
One of my favorites! I use the mini Ritz crackers that already have the peanut butter between them. Saves a lot of time.
made these and they’re great, though i used white chocolate, and nutella as the filling….
Hi, as I live over the pond I’m not sure we have Ritz crackers, so I was wondering if there is something similar available worldwide?
Honestly any sort of buttery crackers would work…even saltines would be great!
I’ve been making these for years. They are still my grown children’s favorite Christmas cookie. I use dark and white chocolate, then drizzle the opposite chocolate on them (using a fork dipped in the chocolate and “flicking” it on the cookies. The dark and white design is very nice.
I made them today, in the aftermat of our hurricane. They are delicious..
My mother-in-law used to make a variation of these at Christmas, using the Ritz-Bitz peanut butter mini crackers (saves labor) and melted white chocolate bark. YUMMY!
I used the crackers/pb then covered with melted almond bark. I made them to send overseas to my husband and his fellow soldiers in afghanistan!!! They were perfect, easy, and kept well in Tupperware. :) thanks for idea!
My sister makes these at Christmas every year. They are utterly delicious! Who would’ve guessed?
Thanks for the idea—these were a super perfect simple thing to put together for a holiday party I’m heading to tonight. Sorta wish I would have thought to put a pretzel right in the middle of these little sandwiches (for an extra kick of crunch) and maybe done a few with semi-sweet or dark chocolate…
Did you just use the chips you buy at the grocery store, or melting chips. My milk chocolate when melting always comes out thick, not beautiful like yours. Thanks I am dying to make these.
Hi Mary! I used regular chocolate chips from the store, but added about a teaspoon or two of shortening to the melted chocolate to help with the thickness/smoothness issue. It takes a bit longer for the coating to dry, but it works! Good luck!
Two teaspoons always makes it creamier and easier to dip!!
I use Almond Bark…Walmart almost always has it in baking isle for $2.90
oh me oh my. yes, good.
Yes indeedy, these are a hit with all my grands…I do both White Chocolate and Milk Chocolate.
My mom makes these every Christmas, only with white chocolate! Try it, you will be amazed! Sooooo good!

Oh I LOVE this!
My grandmother makes these every year, except with white chocolate. It made me smile to see them here! ^_^
