Apple Pie Recipe

We made our easy Apple Pie recipe with a cheddar crust. It's the perfect sweet and slightly savory apple pie! We use a variety of apples in our pie to balance the flavors in the filling. 

Ingredients

Flour Sugar Salt Butter Cheddar Cheese Cinnamon  Nutmeg Egg Cornstarch Apples

To make the pie crust, combine flour, sugar and salt.

Cut in grated butter.

Mix in shredded cheddar cheese.

Knead the dough and form it into a disc.

Refrigerate the dough. Then divide the dough in half. Roll out half the dough and place in a pie dish. 

Best apples for apple pie

For our apple pie filling we use two types of apples:  Granny Smith and Pink Lady Apples

We love how the tartness of the green apples perfectly balances the sweetness of the pink lady apples.

Mix together all of the filling ingredients in a bowl.

Add to the pie dish then top with a lattice crust. 

Pinch the edges together then brush with an egg wash and sanding sugar, then bake.
