  • 3 tablespoons superfine sugar granulated is fine
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
  • zest from 1 medium orange
  • cup dried blueberries
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375˚F.
  • Place flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt into a large mixing bowl and whisk together.

  • Allow soda bread to cool for about 1 hour before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • *Makes 1 large loaf
