A recipe for Blueberry Dessert Pizza. Blueberry Dessert Pizza with cinnamon and sugar. Blueberry Pizza with cinnamon and sugar recipe.  Dessert Pizza. I get it, it may seem strange to some people. It is, its a weird idea, but I think its a glorious one. The closest thing I can think of is Pizza Huts (or maybe Dominos?) has these cinnamon sugar bread sticks. Now, while I dislike having to compare this recipe to those pizza places, I am doing so in an attempt to get you into your comfort zone. This is bomb. Blueberries, cinnamon sugar, cream cheese, mozzarella, it is actually really good. So I hope you will look upon these images, and this recipe and think it would be a good idea to make this. I am going to ask for it as my birthday cake.
♥ Teri

I love this! I’ve put berries on pizza before and it’s just the most fun. I’d eat this for dinner in a heartbeat.

Wow, what an interesting, yet delicious, looking treat! I’m really curious to taste how the mozzarella pairs with everything else. I absolutely love this. My boyfriend and I are avid pizza eaters, so this is right up our alley! I pinned this post, thanks for the great recipe!

I would never have thought of pairing mozzarella cheese with blueberries and cinnamon cream cheese, but now I’m intrigued. I just might have to try this, just to assuage my curiosity!

  5. Wendy @ Salt and Wine Not Specified Not Specified

This sounds to interesting not to try plus it’s beautiful! I wonder if you could pair it with a different cheese besides mozzarella? Maybe a smokey cheddar or even a brie?

Oh. OH MY. This sounds amazing. Pancakes, eat your heart out.

  7. The Sweet Cupcaker Not Specified Not Specified

  11. erin @WELL in L.A. Not Specified Not Specified

Indulgent! Makes me wish cheese and I were on agreeable terms with one another. The fake cheese / cheese substitute + blueberries seems like a bad idea…

    • Teri Lyn Fisher Not Specified Not Specified

Arg! Yes. I’ve never had cheese substitute on pizza. BUT you can always try just making a flat bread with no cheese, maybe drizzle some honey. That might be good!

      • Hollydays Not Specified Not Specified

Try Daiya Cheese – it’s a “vegan” cheese and it actually melts. Comes in Cheddar and Motz. Have only tried the chedder, but my dairy allergy kiddo loves it!

  12. Amanda @ Thinly Sliced Cucumber Not Specified Not Specified

Wow- looks and sounds amazing! I wonder how it would taste with other fruits- like maybe strawberries? My husband’s favorite food is pizza and I’ve been trying to come up with a special and unique Valentine’s day dinner. I think I might have found a winner!

This looks delicious and only last night I was talking about what a sweet pizza would taste like. We make ours every week and cook them in our Green Egg Oven. It’s summer here in NZ so I plan to make this using fresh blueberries which are in season and ricotta cheese which I’m going to make on a cheese making course next weekend. Can’t wait. Thanks for the inspiration.

  14. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga Not Specified Not Specified

This looks amazing and I love pineapple on pizza like no other and blueberries just took this to the next level!!!

  15. Amy (Minimally Invasive) Not Specified Not Specified

This sounds divine! It reminds me just a tiny bit of focaccia with concord grapes, only dessertier (and therefore better). I love pizza in any application, though; I baked one for breakfast not too long ago!

  16. Michelle Not Specified Not Specified

Fabulous! I’m making a dessert pizza that is a little less adventurous for a family gathering this weekend.

I was pleasantly surprised when my husband said of all the cookies we tried from Momofuku Milk Bar, he liked the Blueberry & Cream ones best. We make our own pizza so often that this sweet one will HAVE TO be explored!

  18. Odette Not Specified Not Specified

This sounds so intriguing! I have to give it a try, but I’m thinking brie instead of mozzarella. The pics look absolutely mouth watering!

My first job was at a pizza chain called Hell here in New Zealand, and they did the most amazing dessert pizzas – I could never decide whether I liked banana and chocolate or their apple, custard and cinnamon pizza better.

  23. Sara {Home is Where the Cookies Are} Not Specified Not Specified

This is so intriguing. I never would have thought to do a dessert pizza with fruit and hot mozzarella. But it looks tasty! I think I will have to give it a try!

Hey there! Loved this recipe, and the concept of dessert pizza does not seems weird to me! Haha
I’m from Brazil and people here are very gastronomic creative, sweet pizzas are very common, and you can find multiples flavors in every pizzeria.
Can’t wait to try this one!

Jenny/Teri – I’m going to try this (Blueberry Dessert Pizza) and was wondering if that’s 1 tsp. of ground cinnamon (seems like a lot) or a cinnamon/sugar mixture. Thanks

    • Jenny Park Not Specified Not Specified

Hi Todd! It’s 1 tsp of cinnamon. I know it seems like a lot, but everything else like the cream cheese, shredded cheese, and jam cut the “intenseness” a lot and the flavor actually comes off pretty mild. If you’re still nervous, no problem at all just add half the amount listed. Good luck!

  40. kim Not Specified Not Specified

I tried this after looking at it and it looks amazing btw. It was not tasty (sorry), I really wanted to like it, so I even made some alterations to see if I could make it work for my families taste buds… but it didn’t, we ended up throwing both pizza’s away. The mozzarella and pizza crust just taste so off with the blueberries. My husband who eats just about anything, didn’t eat more then two bites. :( sorry.

    • Teri Lyn Fisher Not Specified Not Specified

Hi Kim, sorry you didn’t like it. I guess it’s just not right for some people. It’s still one of my favorites so I’m sorry you couldn’t get into it!

  41. Melissa Not Specified Not Specified

We have some blueberries we picked up at the farmer’s market this weekend that I wanted to make something new with. I think I’ll try something like this, but I really don’t see it going well with the regular pizza crust and mozzarella. Maybe sugar cookie crust or croissant or shortbread crust, adding a little honey in the cream cheese to sweeten it, and omitting the shredded cheese.

    • Teri Lyn Fisher Not Specified Not Specified

      Hi Melissa,

This isn’t for everyone. I would say if you’re apprehensive now you probably won’t like it. I love it, and its one of my favorite things ever, but it just doesn’t float some peoples boat. Maybe try some of your crust ideas if the regular crust seems gross to you. Good luck.
